Solo Social Scene
· 5 December 2004 ·
The beginning of my solo adventure to Ebensee
took the wrong train to Wels, got off and waited in this sketchy station.
YES! the sparkling lights of the welcome sign to Ebensee are humble
Kino, the venue/theater that Broken Social Scene is to play at
Kevin Drew points to the omnipotent goat head that oversaw our dinner...
Chris(sound guy) and Jason give me a look that can only be described as....PERCEPTIVE
Justin(drummer),Evan(Brass and guitar, with the lettuce),Amy(vocals),John(guitar and brass),Chris(sound),Brendan(guitar and vocals), Andrew(lead guitarist, vocals),and Julian (bass, from Apostle of Hustle) give their smiles to the camera....damn, there's alot of people in BSS
Kevin and Jason express their deep love for one another in a very unconventional manner
Backstage Charles warms up his axe!
Apostle of Hustle takes the stage with calm sounds
then are joined by some trumpet players and Kevin plays the drumsticks on the floor in front of the bass drum, i've never seen anyone play the floor so well
blurry guitarist swaying and playing the music
Andrew moons the audience(unintentially...i think) as the trumpet players fill the venue with vivacious chords
the sillhouettes dance to the growing power of AoH who in turn begin to fill up the stage
more performers from Broken Social Scene take the stage (Amy Millan adds vocals)
since both pictures were blurry, i couldn't decide which is better, each one just looks awesome
AoH finish and the stage is set up for Broken Social Scene
Chris chats with the austrian promoter girl, you cant see her, but she was there(use your imagination!)
the infamous percussive intruments that make such a lovely addition to BSS
guitars wait to entertain the masses....
Charles sets up his fx pedals and set list
the set list for the show glows in a bluish light....the anticipation is killing me!
a strange picture of the lights? i dunno, but it looks pretty awesome!
The beginning of the BSS set filled the venue with growing, building and surrounding chords, the brass players walked around the room and met in the center
Kevin gets hit with some strange lights as he sings
the bands jumps into full effect as the audience jumps into dance moves
more crazy lights from the show
The glowing purple figures of Andrew and Amy and Brendan
in between songs, the band would be washed in a warm orange glow, very cool looking
Red hot rock and rollers!
a really crazy picture of the band shouting the vocals and blasting the wonderful sound of 'Pacific theme'
The show is over and we pack up the instruments of musical wonder
Later that night, a bunch of us headed to the 'Zur Ebensee' bar, the boys played a vicious game of Euchre with the coasters....all the while, Brendan is hit on by the local drunk male (not pictured)
my attempt to take a picture of me, Amy and Evan. but of course my batteries died and so the flash didn't work....but man, what a wonderful night
